Latest Government Advice

The latest government advice now allows people to exercise more than once a day as long as social distancing guidelines are followed, alone, with members of their household, or with one person from outside of their household.

Exercise is still confided to groups of no more than two people, unless exercising with members of the same household. Sport England have further collated key information in relation to sport and physical activity guidelines and to read more about what you 'can' and 'cannot' do since the latest government guidelines please click here.

Many facilities associated with outdoor sports and physical activities can now reopen, if those responsible for them feel ready to do so and if they can do so safely. Each venue, including council-owned sports facilities, should make their own decisions about when their facilities are ready. To find out more information and guidance please click here.

Stay Active at Home

Expert physiotherapists have designed a set of six simple exercises that you can do from your own home to make sure that you are getting some exercise.

Strengthening your muscles will improve your mood, help your sleeping patterns, bring benefits for your overall health and wellbeing and importantly prevent deconditioning.

Getting started is easy, try out the strength and balance six exercises. Watch our animation above to get started, or download and print a poster below. Get on your feet and do them daily – or at least twice a week!
