Join Our Board

Active Dorset County Sports Partnership is a countywide partnership for sport and physical activity, we are one of a national network of 45 county partnerships supported by Sport England.

Our Vision is: To establish Dorset as a place where people choose to enjoy an active lifestyle through participation in sport and physical activity

Active Dorset was established as a Community Interest Company (not for profit) in 2009 and has subsequently seen continuous growth building on successful and consistent delivery for funding partners.

Our partners include a network of Local Authorities, National Governing Bodies, Clubs, Schools, Health Partners and other local agencies committed to working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity.

Through strategic leadership and partnership development, connecting National Governing Bodies for sports to the local area and local partners, Club, coach and volunteer development, supporting the education sector, attracting external investment, the development of facilities, networking, knowledge management and communication we passionately believe that participation in sport and active recreation can continue to increase in our County, contributing positively to people and the communities in which they live and work.

Active Dorset is governed by a Board of Directors, who provide the necessary leadership, experience, energy and political overview to help meet this exciting challenge and to determine strategic direction and policy. Board members are openly recruited to ensure an appropriate balance of skilled individuals.

We now are seeking to expand our Board membership and wish to seek expressions of interest for positions on the Board, particularly from the sectors of Commerce, Public Health, Education and Third sector. These are all voluntary positions although appropriate expenses will be paid.
