Stokewood Leisure Centre tops UK quality charts

Stokewood Leisure Centre in Bournemouth has been recognised as one of the highest performing UK leisure centres for the fourth year running.

Rated 'Excellent' by Quest, Sport England's quality scheme for sport and leisure, Stokewood is managed by BH Live in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council.

More than 600 leisure centres are accredited by Quest, whose rigorous assessments review operating standards ranging from face-to-face interactions and customer service to online presence, enquiry handling, signage and answering the phone. In addition to a two-day inspection, each centre also undergoes a mystery visit.

At present, only 103 centres across the UK hold the scheme's 'Excellent'accreditation, which can only be reached by providing consistently high levels of customer service across multiple assessment modules and achieving an exceptional mystery visit.

Following the assessment, Quest's operations director, Caroline Constantine, said, "This is no mean feat! It is very rare that I see 'Excellent' in the mystery visit and nearly every module. A huge well done to the team at Stokewood."

John Davies, centre manager at Stokewood, added, "Stokewood is a great facility serving thousands of people of all ages and abilities across our local community. I am thrilled with the feedback we have received from Quest. Together with support from our partners and customers, we will continue to build upon what has been achieved here so far to encourage more people from our community into physical activity."

A £1million investment project to improve the public health and well-being facilities at Stokewood is currently underway in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council. This will complete later this year and further improve the overall customer experience.
