Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts

The Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts recognises clubs or providers who have demonstrated a commitment to maintaining excellent safeguarding standards so everyone participating and engaging in Martial Arts can have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Clubs, instructors, coaches, teachers, also governing bodies, associations and franchise organisations can demonstrate their practices and procedures and working knowledge of safeguarding and duty of care to their participants.

The Safeguarding Code "mark" has been created so that parents/carers and educational establishments can clearly identity who has successfully signed up to the Code. Those who have been awarded the "mark" can use the logo on their promotional material, their governing documents, policies and procedures and their official stationery. As a result, parents/carers and educational establishments can make informed decisions when selecting a club or provider for their child/children, young people or adults in their care.

The Code was launched by the Sports Minister in early 2018 and has been developed through close consultation with the Safeguarding Martial Arts Group and those with years of expertise in safeguarding.

You need to register online at www.safeguardingcode.com and complete a simple process to demonstrate that you have a good working knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices.
