Picnic in the Park is coming to Blandford & Bournemouth this weekend!

Picnic in the Park is a free event open to all of the community and will be taking place in both Woodhouse Gardens, Blandford and Slades Park, Bournemouth on Saturday 14^th September, 11am-3pm. Both events will have live music and a range of free activities for everyone to try!

Picnic in the Park is a health and wellbeing event bought to you in partnership with Active Dorset, Natural Choices, Stepping into Nature. The main aim is to bring the community together, promote being active outdoors to boost wellbeing and encourage people to find out more about wellbeing initiatives in their local area.

Charlie Coward, Active Ageing Project Manager at Active Dorset commented; "Picnic in the Park is a free event, aimed at local residents. The event will showcase local opportunities to be active and access nature by having a number of interactive stalls and free activity taster sessions – including free health MOT's offered by LiveWell Dorset. Bring a picnic and join us at either Blandford or Bournemouth this weekend!".

This event is building upon the success of previous Picnic in the Park events which have taken place this year, which were very popular with over 1,500 people attending across Dorchester, Weymouth and Swanage. A key feature of the events is the intergenerational feel – they really are events for the whole family.
