Ping! Bournemouth & Poole

Ping! Bournemouth & Poole a summer success!

Ping! once again was a roaring success on the south coast with over 37,000 visits, to the 35 different table tennis tables, which were spread across Bournemouth and Poole during the Ping! 2017 Summer Festival. A massive thank you goes out to all of the wonderful table minders who enabled outdoor table tennis to become a regular addition to both the locals and tourists summer activities list.

The tables at the Bournemouth Pier Approach proved to be the most popular with members of the public playing on the tables from 10:00am – 10:00pm every day! The brand new tables in Poole at Sandbanks Beach Office, Habour Challenge Outdoor Education and Rockley Water Sports were also put to good use and were very well received by locals in the area. Staff at the Sandbanks Beach Office were quick to mention the popularity of their 3 tables and specifically mentioned, "The tables are great, and we have even had a queue for them".

Ping! also made an appearance at three different events over the summer which were the Dorset Indian Mela, Slades Farm Family Fun Day and The Velodrome Family and Friends Day. James Day who coordinated the Ping! Bournemouth and Poole Project on behalf of Active Dorset stated: "the project is a fun and easy way for individuals to engage in physical activity and the feedback we have had at these events proves that".

Although, the summer has now disappeared, along with the sunshine, Ping! has not, as many of the tables have now been donated to different 'play on' locations across Bournemouth and Poole which offer various forms of both recreational and competitive table tennis.
